Some pubs just seem to manage to get it right. Not sure how. Not sure what they do. But they get the balance of calm with energised. The balance between cozy and cool. The Green Man manages that. Oh, and has a more than half decent menu too! Staff on our visit were really welcoming and we enjoyed lunch as well as managing to crack the "Hangman" pub quiz. If you want an authentic, elegant, country pub experience with decent food and super friendly staff then treat yourself to the Green Man.

Had the most delicious Sunday roast there recently and also another time recently a lovely burger and chips! There just isn’t a food that isn’t tasty in here! The homemade ice cream is creamy and full of flavour. The food is of Gordon Ramsay standard and the chefs should be applauded, the food has always been fantastic in there! There’s good cosy atmosphere in there too with games available to play also. And a big plus it’s a super dog friendly pub!

Game night was a great success. The duck was superb and very good value. All the trimmings were tasty and the sauces matched well.

Friendly and efficient service. Great food and beer. I really enjoyed the swordfish which was cooked perfectly. Excellent value. Am looking forward to my next visit.

Called by to eat on a Monday evening on the way to a stay at Stanstead Airport . Superb food and great staff. Not local but this is a proper pub with proved no nonsense but stunning tasting pub food . A real find

What a fantastic little gem of a pub. Looking for a place to eat last minute, we called and were immediately accommodated. Exceptionally polite staff, but also very laid back, which immediately led to the obvious relaxed atmosphere. We were seated swiftly, but not urged to sit until ready. I opted for an ale, and was given the option of their own session ale, wickarman, it was absolutely spot on!! The food options, although humble, were very well appointed, great options, especially the starters, a great selection, often overlooked on a menu. The addition of a few specials too, created a great selection.
